Welcome to Planet Anime Kansas City. Our goal is to help every attendee have the best experience possible. Here is some helpful information for anyone with special needs.
#1 Please check in with our ADA Team when you arrive.
PAKC has a group of dedicated volunteers available to answer your questions.
On Friday, October 18, 4-8pm and Saturday, October 19 from 9am-noon, you can find us in Lobby 1500 as you enter the Convention Center at 14th St.
Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday, we will be located on the 3rd floor, Lobby 3500, outside the entrance of the exhibit floor and in close proximity to the Quiet Room.
You can pick up a program and learn about locations of elevators, our quiet room, connect with our ASL team, and get instructions on how to access a wheelchair. (Note: there is a limited number) They can also direct you to the special queuing area for anyone with mobility issues.

Services Offered
ASL Interpreting Services
PAKC is very proud of our talented and intrepid team of NERDterpreters. They provide ASL interpreting services on our main stage and upon request in Celebrity Row.
Any Deaf or Hard of Hearing attendees needing ASL services or assistance can text the interpreter text line at 816-506-3623
You can also connect with them in person on the Exhibit Floor, east side of Hall E
Communication Boards
PAKC has communication boards available at our ADA desk for those needing assistance with non-verbal communication.
Quiet Room
Like any Comicon, PAKC is an exciting, and noisy place. PAKC has designated Room 3501B as a quiet space for you to get away if needed. It is also our Anime/Manga library.
Sensory Kits
Our friends with B&B Theaters have provided a limited number of sensory kits with noise canceling headphones. You may check out the kits at our ADA desk.
You will be asked to leave your ID to check out a kit.
Service Animals
Service Animals are welcomed in the KC Convention Center and at Planet Anime KC.
Please be advised that per ADA guidelines, service animals are dogs or miniature horses ONLY.
Comfort animals of any kind are NOT permitted inside the KC Convention Center and Planet Anime KC.
Special Seating
Our panel team designates special ADA seating in our main stage room. That seating will also be in close proximity of the ASL interpreter on stage.
Note: there is a limited number of reserved seats for ADA guests.
Wheelchair Availability
This is a big space, and if you have mobility issues, you should plan accordingly.
The Kansas City Convention Center has a limited number of wheelchairs for public use.
The chairs are made available on a first-come, first serve basis. They are located in the Convention Event Services office located on the lower level of the complex (below Lobby 2200).
If you absolutely need a wheelchair or scooter at the convention, you are better served to bring your own.
Other Helpful Tips
Plan your Visit/Download the PAKC App to help you plan your visit. The app has maps of the complex and a complete schedule of events.
Bring a friend. If you need help navigating the Convention Center we encourage you to come with a friend. We are unable to provide attendants to individuals attending the show.
