2024 PAKC After Dark

When the exhibit floor closes on Friday and Saturday at Planet Anime is the show over? No!  

The fun continues and here is a list of the fun activities you can take advantage of with your PAKC admission credential!  

Are you planning on joining one of the three 18+ panels – Top Degen, Helluverse Sing A Long or History of Horror in Anime Part 2 in room 2502B? You will need a wristband for entrance! The wristband will be available at Will Call (2300 Lobby) on Saturday 1PM-6PM, ID REQUIRED to pick up. Wristbands are ONLY required for these 3 panels. You DO NOT need a wristband for after parties, etc.

Description: This year we have expanded our footprint of exotic Japanese and other arcade games, including Rhythm games! The arcade will be open until 1:00am both Friday and Saturday!

Description: New! This year PAKC and LevelUP Arena offer our Casual Gaming Lounge: Relax and Play! Not into the high-stakes world of tournaments? No problem! This year, we’re introducing the ultimate gaming chill zone with our Casual Gaming Lounge.

Description: Need a place to sit back, unwind, and discover some anime you’ve never seen before? Want to relive some of your favorite childhood classics? Stop by the Screen Room to see a rotation of anime that’s sure to inspire! Schedule will be posted on the door.

Description: Join your friends and share your vocal interpretation of Anime themed songs with an appreciative audience! Hosted by Sierra Berry!  Come at 7:45pm to sign up! The singing starts at 8:00pm!

Planet Dragime 
Description: Lights, camera, ACTION! Join us for the 2nd Annual Planet Dragime extravaganza, featuring a showcase of songs, dance, and skits. Bring your dollars to tip these amazing performers! This event is recommended for 18 and up.

PAKC Cosplay Moon Walk! 
Description: Planet Anime Cosplay MOON WALK! Come join with your cosplay friends for a celestial parade of cosplayers who will walk the stage to kick off the Friday Night Rave during PAKC! You be the star and bring your friends! Come join the fun! Meet up at the bottom of the escalators in the 1500 lobby at 8:45pm. The parade starts at 9:00pm and participants will walk to the Rave stage in 1501B! No pre-signup before the convention is necessary! Just meet us in the lobby of 1500 at 8:45pm!

PAKC Furry Moon Walk!
Description: Planet Anime Furry MOON WALK! Come join with your Furry friends for a celestial parade of cosplayers who will walk the stage to kick off the Friday Night Rave during PAKC! Friday Night Ani-Rave at PAKC!
Description: Join us for a celebration of all things Anime, Pop Culture, Anime Edits, Theme Songs, Hyper Pop, K-pop , J-pop and Party Tunes.  DJ Ice Kole will be on hand spinning tunes and powering the evening! Look for the Cosplay and Furry Moonwalk coming through to kick off the party!  Let’s Go! All attendees 18+ are invited to the party in Room 1501B  Adult beverages (21+) inside and food trucks outside on 14th street starting at 8pm. The Party is Here!  Admission is free with your PAKC wristband. Check out the Anime Arcade open until 12:30am next door in 1501C.  Ani-Rave is produced in partnership with Flyover Event Co.

Description: Join us for the second ever Planet Anime Kansas City Cosplay Contest! Prizes and Pride hang in the balance!  Cosplayers put their best work on display for guest judges Folxy Cosplay, Dessi-Desu, and Geeks-A-Gogo, hosted by Luna Flare and Sierra Berry.
The cosplay contest is produced in partnership with Flyover Event Co.

History of Horror in Anime Part 2 (18+)
Description: Back for another year! Embark on a macabre journey through time and experience the evolution of horror anime over the decades. We’ll cover the body horror of the 80s, the ultraviolence of the 90s, the psychological horror of the 2000s, and on until we reach the present day. Seasoned veterans of the scene as well as newbies to the genre alike can expect an abundance of anime recommendations to add to their watch list. (18+ Mature Content Warning: Due to the subject matter of this panel, some content will not be appropriate for all audiences.)
